TWMH Trust is proud to work in partnership with Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) who offer free heart screenings across Cheshire for the younger people in our community.
We funded a weekend session at Tarporley hospital in July 2025 when 199 youngsters were screened and 15 referred on for further investigation. There was also a significant milestone for the CRY team during the weekend when the 10,000th person was screened – Charlie Mae Conway.
More about CRY
Cardiac Risk in the Young works to prevent young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening and research, and supporting affected families. The Screening Days identify cardiac abnormalities in 14 to 35-year-olds and involve an ECG in the first instance. Anyone with an abnormal ECG on the day will also receive an Echocardiogram followed by a full cardiac evaluation.
To register interest in attending a free screening session in future, please refer to the CRY
website.
