Supporting Health and Wellbeing Across Our Community

In the very heart of Tarporley, our charity exists for a simple but important purpose – to help ensure everyone in our community has access to the health and social care services they need. Our vision is a community where health and
wellbeing support is available to all, no matter your age or circumstance.

We are a grant-giving charity, raising funds locally and reinvesting them directly back into the community. Through the grants we award, we support projects and services that improve physical and mental wellbeing, enhance local health provision, and go above and beyond what the NHS can provide.

The hospital building is now leased to our strategic partner on site, the Countess of Chester Hospital, which is developing the Tarporley facility as a rural hub for outpatient and community-based care. We have a common goal, which is to ensure this much-loved facility thrives and brings important services closer to home. However, as an independent charity, it’s important to understand that we do not fund NHS services. Instead, our focus is on funding additional initiatives that complement and strengthen local provision, helping to improve health and wellbeing across our community.

So far, our grants have helped fund a wide range of community-centred activities including: 

•  Mental wellbeing programmes: that support mental health and resilience
•  Dementia support and social groups: that reduce isolation and improve quality of life.
• Carers’ services and practical support: for families and individuals.
• Preventative health initiatives and screenings: to help people, particularly young people, stay well.
• Community-focused projects: that bring people together and build stronger local networks.

Each project we fund responds to real needs within our local area, helping people lead healthier, more connected
lives.

What makes this work so meaningful is that it is powered by the community itself. Every donation, every fundraiser, and every supporter helps us continue awarding grants that directly benefit local people. 

In rural areas like ours, access to services can sometimes be limited. Our role is to help bridge those gaps, ensuring people aren’t left behind when it comes to their health and wellbeing. Whether that’s improving access to support, funding new initiatives, or helping organisations expand their reach, we are here to make a positive impact where it matters most.

We are currently in the process of reviewing the applications we’ve received for our recent grant campaign. There are some fantastic projects in the mix, so do keep an eye out for updates as we begin announcing the projects we will be supporting over the next month or so.
