Andy originally trained as a scientist, which has led to a varied career. He has worked in sales and marketing for a private company; product design and innovation within a university setting; and between 2002-2007 he managed Liverpool Cathedral and its associated small companies and charities, where governance became a significant feature of his working life.
Andy joined the NHS as a Company Secretary in 2007 and has been a self employed corporate governance consultant since 2014. He works principally with distressed NHS provider organisations.
Andy has lived and worked abroad in Kenya (teaching); Papua New Guinea (scientific research) and Qatar (healthcare governance). He has charity trustee experience arising from multiple roles since the 1990s. He also has an interest in the commercial property market.
